Eco-Chic Charrette is an exciting live sustainable fashion design competition where creativity meets environmental action. Designers, artists, students, DIYers, crafters and fashion and environmental enthusiasts transform discarded textiles and everyday materials into bold, runway-worthy fashion—all against the clock.
More than a competition, Eco-Chic Charrette is a movement that demonstrates how creativity, innovation, culture and a human drive for sustainability can work together to reduce the effects of textile waste on the environment all while celebrating individual self expression. Every stitch tells a story. Every creation proves that yesterday’s waste can become tomorrow’s masterpiece.
Why Eco-Chic Charrette?
The fashion industry is one of the world’s largest contributors to waste, with millions of tonnes of clothing ending up in landfills and seas every year; Or as harmful emissions in our air, plastics and toxic chemicals in our waters. Eco-Chic Charrette challenges this reality by inspiring designers and communities to rethink and explore the hidden value of materials that are often discarded.
