We move the Clam Shell to the beautiful green and hot outdoors for this project and welcomed Robin who brought 2 pairs of jean shorts belonging to her teenage daughter. Robin wanted to refresh the shorts with some embellishments. We agreed to do a contrasting edge on one and add some pocket detail on the other. Nai rescued an older pant from his high school days. It has some fading, but he likes some elements of the pant, like the stretch, fit and colour. Rather than add this pant to the discard pile, he decided to recreate it into rolled shorts by adding some contrasting Ankara print. He did a great job selecting a matching print, decided on the length of shorts and the length of the rolled hem. We cut the contrasting cloth to the width of the leg opening and doubled the length of the rolled hem. You can see highlights of our progress and results below.
